The Bard Rugby Football Club maintains a storied tradition at Bard, having been founded in 1995 followed by the women’s team beginning play in 2005. The club welcomes new and experienced players, playing 7s games in the fall and spring.
During the 2018-19 season, Bard Rugby shifted its focus from Rugby Union, which has 15 players per team, to Rugby Sevens, played with seven per side. Sevens rugby, which was reincorporated into the Olympics in 2016, is fast-paced and exciting to watch, with two action-packed 7-minute halves. Bard’s 2018-19 season was highlighted by a tournament they hosted, defeating Drew University and Manhattanville teams at Ferrari North!
